Description

This presentation from 2013 introduces traditional mundane astrology, in two parts. The first part describes Ptolemy’s approach to eclipses and climes, and how his lunation charts were adapted to predicting prices and commodities markets by the medieval Persians and Arabs. The second part describes historical astrology: framing history into larger and smaller periods using Saturn-Jupiter conjunctions and other timing devices, including Aries ingresses. In the slides and handout, Benjamin Dykes uses numerous historical charts to illustrate these techniques: prices, eclipses, climes and other terrestrial regions, mean conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter and their triplicity changes, and ingress charts from the WWII era, showing how the direction of the Ascendant of the ingress to Mars identifies key dates of treaties and attacks. Length 1:16:09, 36MB.
